Raised 4 children who have provided numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Until recently, Worked for the Veterans Administration. Started writing songs in Spring of 2007 as the result of encouragement from Kimberly Moran of the NH Rock Bottom Band. http://www.nhrockbottomband.com/indexF.html?contact.shtml My first song was "What My Heart Sees" This song was recognized as a top 5 song of the month in Songwriter Universe Magazine's January 2008 Contest http://www.songwriteruniverse.com/contestwinner54-123.htm and selected as an "Honorable Mention" in Song Of The Year's December 2007 Country category http://www.songoftheyear.com/webawards/l/LaurenceEButterfield.htm One of my songs was Selected as a finalist in "Song Of The Year Contest" for August 2007 In the lyrics category for "Funeral Balled" http://www.songoftheyear.com/winners/2007/082007.htm My song, "The Heart Commits Treason" was selected as the winner, in the Country genre, for the month of January 2009 in the Song Of The Year Contest Most recently, my song "Love Is What I Heard", received a "Runner UP" acknowledgement for Song Of The Year's March 2009 Country category. http://www.songoftheyear.com/webawards/l/LaurenceEButterfield.htm Currently, I live in Hartland, Vermont and work on my lyrics thanks to the encouragement of a very special lady, Cindy May (Day) Wilkesman. My hopes and dreams are to one day actually hear a song I wrote on the radio and climbing the charts. Moreover, to have an acknowledged star actually performing a song I have written. All this said, the greatest award I have received to date, is the joy and personal fullfillment I have received from the heartfelt feedback I have received from the Patriot Guard Riders, for my song "Funeral Ballad". http://vermonter13.home.comcast.net/~vermonter13/FuneralBalladFeedback.html But I've gotten ahead of myself. As my home page indicated, I am not a singer. I collaborate with and hire others to sing my songs. This makes it even more difficult to have your music heard or played then just being an unknown singer/songwriter. This is because I am really having to promote someone else who is singing my songs. Finding no success with this avenue, I started my own label, with the help of a partner. In early 2009, we started 2 B Heard Publishing and financed the production of my first album "Laurence E Butterfield's Classic Country Compositions" which consists of 11 songs sung by Mike Lusk and Jaime Moon. Both of these singers are studio singers from A Writer's Paradise recording studios in Nashville, Tennessee. So now, my songs are finally out there for people to hear. Various indie radio stations from around the world are now starting to play my music and my songs are available for purchase here on my website. For now I remain a little known, unsigned indie songwriter. Hopefully, some exposure is going to change all that. But for now, I move on to whatever the good Lord has in store for me next ...
