RANDELL & SCHIPPERS BIO
The songwriting and performing duo of Randell & Schippers (R & S) is the name under which writer/artist/producers Denny Randell and Biddy Schippers create their musical fantasies together. And “Alice In Wonderland,” their national dance charter and Top 10 Yahoo video hit, from their iTunes pick album featuring the song, story and characters they created and perform, is their latest.

Denny and Biddy originally met in Los Angeles through a mutual music publishing contact and found an immediate chemistry as collaborators. While continuing to write for and produce other artists, R & S soon found their own planet as recording artists. Denny was a seasoned performer, while Biddy had focused solely on writing. But that changed as well. “Denny loved my voice,” she remembers. “He said, ‘I think you have a hit sound. I think we should make a record and put it out.’” Denny’s prediction proved correct.

From their very first release “Let’s Go For It,” on their own Ear Candy label, quickly re-released by CBS, their sound triumphed in the U.S and then on both sides of the Atlantic. Their 90’s dance hit “Love Jam” was called “Quite simply, a modern masterpiece” by the UKs’ Blues & Soul Magazine and Mark Deming of Allmusic.com refers to these and their current ‘Alice In Wonderland’ as “club staples.”

At the time they met, Biddy had already written several songs that were hits in Europe and Japan and Denny was a 20+ year veteran on the pop music scene, having amassed major success as a composer with over 45 of his songs having reached the Billboard charts in the U.S. alone

Denny's top hits include “A Lover’s Concerto,” now a worldwide standard, and numerous smashes for Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons including “Let’s Hang On (To What We’ve Got),” “Opus 17” and “Working My Way Back To You” (also a hit for the Spinners). These three songs are now featured on Broadway in the Tony award-winning show “Jersey Boys” and its Grammy award-winning album.

Other Randell-penned classics include “Native New Yorker”, “Swearin’ To God,” and the Smash Mouth hit “Can’t Get Enough Of You Baby.” Randell has also produced and arranged many hits and has been an A&R director/producer for several major labels.

R & S’s current projects include their new live show, from which they performed a medley on the 2009 Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon, as well as new Randell & Schippers recordings due out in 2010. They are also working on a musical theatrical show to be completed shortly.

But, while continuing with their own musical activities, the special project the pair has been working on is GI JAMS ™, their new company created to help and support those GIs with musical talent.
