R&R
Taking some much-needed R&R.
I just arrived in Indianapolis, IN where I will be taking two weeks of R&R. What a headache this trip has been so far. Over 48 hours of travel time, most of which was spent sitting outside at 120+ degrees Kuwait. Now I'm waiting on my family to get here (I hopped an early flight from Atlanta and didn't get a chance to notify them). I need to hold my girls... -Adrian

Flying John McCain
I recently had the distinct honor of flying Senator John McCain around Bagdad.
During Senator McCains visit to the Middle East, made several stops throughout Iraq. During one of those stops, he climbed aboard the aircraft that I was flying! What an awesome experience. We put him up on comms and he chatted with us while we flew him to his destination. When he got out he came around and took a few photos with us. I'll post them as soon as I can. I love this job!! -Adrian

New song: "99"
Hey guys, I just added a new song. "99" was written and recorded in Iraq by Victor Favela and myself.
Special thanks to Victor Favela for the awesome music. I hope my rudimentary lyrics compliment his orchestrations.

Behind the song: "Missing You"
Behind the song: "Missing You"
Hello from Iraq, First, thank you for taking the time to listen to our music here on GI Jams. We appreciate your support. I wanted to take a moment to talk about the song that I just uploaded... "Missing You". This song was written for my wife of thirteen years, Brooke and it was written and recorded right here in Iraq, just a couple of weeks ago. "Missing You" came about in a rather obtuse manner. being a piano player, I wanted to write a song based on advanced chord progressions rather than lyrics and timing. So I speant months finding and putting together these progressions through mostly accidental means. Then I arranged and recorded these progressions and added all of the accompaniments. It was then that I started thinking about lyrics. That's where I ran into problems. I am a long-time musician from a predominantly gospel background. So I write predominantly Christian music. However, in this case, since I had already written songs for both my daughters, McKenna and Hayden(yet to be released through GI Jams), I thought it was time to write a song for my wife, Brooke. I also wanted to write a song that applied to us as servicemen and servicewomen and the sacrifice that we've made in being away from our spouses. Once I found a focus for my lyrics, it took me about an hour to come up what you are now hearing in "Missing You". This is my first attempt at a love song, so I would love your input. However, the person that I wrote this song for loves it so the song is already a success. God Bless, Adrian
