Biography:
Bob Smith, a veteran of the Vietnam War, is President and CEO of Alliance Beverage Distributing Company, one of the largest beverage distributors in the U.S. and the largest in the state of Arizona.
As such, Alliance strives to be recognized by both customers and suppliers as the very best as well as being a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to the highest moral and ethical standards. In Bob’s own words, “As a company, we have an enormous responsibility to our customers, our suppliers, and to the community in which we live and serve."
And true to his words, Bob and the employees at Alliance support six major charities in Arizona. Last year they exceeded $2.2 million in charitable giving. Through the Alliance Beverage Benefit Fund, they support cancer and heart research, help youths to become better students and reach their potential, provide a home for abused women and their children, and help our troops and their families while they are away serving their country and again after they come home.
And GI Jams is very grateful to also be one of the projects he believes in and supports, financially as well as through his time and efforts. As is a true example of his heart and spirit, he has been on the front line with GI Jams since the inception of our mission to help and support our musical military artists and, in every way we can, military families and causes in general.
Bob, who never misses a beat, also shares another great connection with GI Jams (and its founders and co-directors) and that is his love for and involvement with music. He was formerly a professional musician and performer himself, and, simply put, on top of his many other talents - Bob is a great drummer!
With his knowledge and abilities as the head of a major corporation, his service in and support for our military and his love of and pro experience with music, we are fortunate and grateful to have Bob Smith serving on our GI Jams Board Of Advisors.
