Born To Live Michael Robert Johnson born on May 16, 1984 in southeastern Wisconsin. At a young age, he was blessed with an open mind in regards to the absorption to listen to the music of various and culturally diverse legendary music artists. One of the most important lessons that this upcoming star would learn was that in every artist song, there would be a major story. Consequently, some of his major influences consist of the late 2 Pac Shakur, Nas, Jay Z, and Big L, just to name a few. At the age of ten, Michael Johnson began experimenting with melody and poetry. Even at this young age, friends and family noticed that this child had a gift. Like the artist that he admired, it was finally time to tell his story. To date, "Mikey J" has made over 150 songs and performed at over 10 venues. Mikey J describes himself as a versatile artist with an eastcoast flow and downsouth vibe that he has made his own. In 2003, Mikey J’s talent was discovered by a music label out of Warner Robins, GA called Head Rock Ent., but due to serving in the military he had to PCS and part ways from his music label. Mikey J is currently an independent artist and will also be releasing the album “Definition of a K.I.N.G” soon. With daily influences and observing every situations significance as it relates to a story, Mikey J is progressing each day. To those who know about him, and to others who have no clue, this 27 yr old artist is ready to “SHINE.”
