Iaian Thompson

Country/Rock

The story of Highway 105 is actually pretty interesting once you get into it a little bit. We're not really like any other country or southern rock group I've ever heard. So, here is our story: We started out in 2009 Afghanistan! That's right, Afghanistan! Although none of us hale from the far off Middle eastern land, we were formed there, as part of a touring Military Band. It's strange, to say the least. Highway 105 Started with two members, Iaian Thompson and Tommy Kindle. We were just an acoustic duo that spurred off a bit, from the military band. When we were playing shows that called for a smaller group, we answered the call with good vocals and guitar skills. We started recording together later on in 2009, and saw that it was high time we added drums and piano. So, we enlisted the help of Richard Ford and Patty Droppleman. They are probably some of the best musicians it has been our pleasure to know. Although Richie and Patty are not permanent members of Highway 105, they played an integral role in our success, even if the recordings were made in Afghanistan with less than great equipment. Once back in the good old U. S. of A., We went to work, tryin' to make somethin' out of ourselves. So we added Brad Angel to bass guitar, and Dan Dove to drums, and wouldn't you know it, we had a four piece band! A few shows were played as a military group, and a few civilian for the public, but the rigors of military life caused a small amount of shows to be played. And once the new members, Brad and Dan, had to move on with their careers in the Military, the foursome became a duo once more. However, we are continuing this journey. With the help of a few other friends, Highway 105 is comin' back....back to Afghanistan, that is. Playin' for the troops is what we do best. Keep lookin' for more photos and video blogs of our tour through Afghanistan.

If that's a sign of addiction, then I'm in trouble too! But actually, I have a nice, cold Amberbock right now. Haha
