Three Men, Derek Williams, Kory McManus, and Cory Prince all joined the Louisiana National Guard, and were shipped to Iraq in March of 2010. Williams, who back home was a singer in a band, met up with McManus and Prince one day at Camp Shelby Mississippi. It was then that Williams discovered McManus and Prince too had musical talents. With Williams ability to make music and sing, and Mcmanus and Prince's ability to flow, they formed Code Name Maverick. A group that doesn't sugarcoat what the feel. Their one rule is to make songs about REAL shit. In doing so, they have become a sensation across their company and battalion. Now they've decided to go a step further, and entertain military as a whole. Using the little time that the have between missions to record, and develope new music, they truly are, icons. |

Hey guys, i saw you guys on the updated activity section and figured id check you out. And im glad i did. You guys sound great, even though you are just joking around and stuff, it sounds really good for being in Iraq, lol. Just to let you guys know, whenever you get back from your deployment, i got a studio that im setting up right now, and id love to have you guys come and record. Ive worked with snoop dogg, usher, and Frankee. Keep up the good work, and thank you for all that you guys do for us back home. Be safe and come back in one piece.
